Regional Education Secretariat defines new rules for workers' probationary period
The Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology (SRECT) has published Normative Order no. 2/2026, which defines the procedure to be adopted in the evaluation of the probationary period for workers integrated into the centralized management system. This measure applies to the direct administration services of the Secretariat and services under the direct dependency of its Cabinet.
Objectives and Scope
The probationary period is intended to verify the worker's suitability for the job. The new regime applies to workers with contracts, excluding only those with permanent contracts in careers not yet reviewed and special careers.
Duration of the Probationary Period (Permanent Contracts)
- Operational Assistant: 90 days.
- Technical Assistant: 180 days (reduced to 120 days according to Collective Labor Agreement no. 1/2009).
- Higher Technician: 240 days (reduced to 180 days according to Collective Labor Agreement no. 1/2009).
Evaluation Process
The evaluation is the responsibility of a jury (for permanent contracts) or the immediate hierarchical superior (for fixed-term contracts). The process includes:
- The preparation of a monitoring plan by the jury.
- The presentation of a report by the worker at the end of the period.
- The assignment of a final grade on a scale of 0 to 20 points.
Fixed-term Contracts
For fixed-term contracts, the process is simplified due to the nature of the bond's duration:
- Duration of 30 days: For fixed-term or uncertain-term contracts with a duration equal to or greater than 6 months.
- Duration of 15 days: For fixed-term or uncertain-term contracts with a duration of less than 6 months.
The order enters into force on the day following its publication, on April 17, 2026.
